The General Data Protection Regulation has been hard to miss over the past few weeks. But have you waited too long to begin your journey to compliance?

As you’re probably well aware, GDPR comes into effect on 25th May 2018. As a business in the EU, you will need to be aware of the privacy rights for individuals and their lawful grounds for processing personal data.

GDPR has been getting plenty of media coverage in recent weeks. The Guardian, Sky News and the BBC all highlight the severity of non-compliance. Failure to comply, could lead to huge fines of 20 million Euros or 4% of global turnover. Yet many business as far from ready.

For many businesses, their preparation for GDPR is limited. Let's be fair, it can seem like a complex and overwhelming topic. You may be wondering: How does this affect me day-to-day? What exactly do I need to do to follow the new regulations? How do we enforce compliance across various departments and technology solutions? And after all this, where does the buck lie? With you, the chief executive officer or the chief data officer?

Under the weight of all these questions, it can be hard to know where to start.
