Episerver, the customer-centric digital experience company, has been positioned for the first time ever as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Platforms.

The report praises Episerver’s understanding of the DXP market - delivering advanced digital and CX capabilities for digital commerce including: content management, personalisation, AI, content delivery and customer journey management, along with their simple and transparent pricing model for growing mid-market and enterprise Ecommerce businesses. The Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience assesses the strengths and weaknesses of the top 18 DXP vendors and is aimed at helping technology buyers such as IT, Marketing and Ecommerce Directors choose the best Ecommerce solution for their needs. These vendors are categorised in the quadrant according to whether they are a Leader, Challenger, Visionary or Niche Player. The key elements of a DXP must provide capabilities to drive value for the business, and its customers, well into the future.

Gartner assesses two key areas: 1. “Ability to Execute” which includes product functionality and market responsiveness. 2. “Completeness of Vision” which includes areas such as market understanding and innovation.

“Being named a DXP leader, in my opinion, shows that Episerver’s customer-centric platform and visionary products are delivering real value to our customers. With our recent acquisitions of Idio and Insite, we are strengthening our personalisation, content and commerce solutions even more. Our mission is to help companies close the gap between the experiences they’re delivering today and the ones their customers expect today and tomorrow.” – Justin Anovick, Chief Product Officer, Episerver

To be included in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Platforms, vendors must meet several criteria related to product packaging, revenue and market, geographic coverage and functionality. The DXP solution must be able to perform or support functions for customer experience, DXP management, multichannel delivery, customer data management, cloud enablement and multilingual support, among other functionality.

DXP was introduced as a Magic Quadrant category in 2018, reflecting the evolution of technologies that drive experience. Whilst the digital experience platform market is still immature, which means there is a great deal of variety in vendor solutions - Gartner calls out what we all know: Episerver is well-regarded for customer experience by business and IT - with a broad portfolio offering across content management, digital marketing and digital commerce, all in one screen.
