For the fifth year in a row, Episerver has been acknowledged as a Leader in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management (WCM).

Episerver is one of only a handful of vendors to see an improved position year-over-year. Positioning themselves as a leader based on their ability to execute and completeness of vision, they are now one of the top four vendors alongside Adobe, Acquia and Sitecore. The report praises Episerver’s rapid time to value /TCO, ease of use and simple pricing model for mid-market and enterprise Ecommerce businesses.




The Gartner Magic Quadrant for WCM assesses the strengths and weaknesses of the top 18 WCM vendors and is aimed at helping IT, Marketing and Ecommerce Directors choose the best Ecommerce solution for their needs. Gartner assesses two key areas: 1. “Ability to Execute” which includes product functionality and market responsiveness. 2. “Completeness of Vision” which includes areas such as market understanding and innovation.

Gartner commends Episerver for their mature cloud and personalisation capabilities. While certain platforms have drifted backwards on vision due to poor customer experience and confusing subscription models, Gartner recognises Episerver’s investment in event triggering, AI-based personalisation, and customer-journey analytics. As a result, Episerver has ranked 3rd overall for Completeness of Vision and 4th overall for Ability to Execute. Now Episerver is closing the gap on Sitecore and Adobe and form a core component of an elite top four vendors, ever distancing themselves from the remaining 14 platforms assessed.
