Maginus introduces better mail order functionality for Coachwise.
Coachwise chose Maginus as the core mail order and stock management system to run their multi-client, multi-channel business in 2003 and went live in 2004. Coachwise needed a comprehensive mail order system to handle multiple clients as they sell their own products via catalogues, call centre in Leeds, the 1st4sport web site and also manage mail order operations for organisations such as the FA and England Netball.
Coachwise Ltd publishes sports-related titles to market through its own channels and to trade customers and Maginus is used to manage some publishing requirements, including royalties. Coachwise sell both B2B to local authorities, schools and governing bodies and B2C to individual sports enthusiasts and coaches. Maginus can handle all of these requirements within a single standard package, and has significant experience of dealing with B2C mail order and B2B distribution operations. Improving profitability is one of the key benefits following the installation of Maginus.
The old system required significant amounts of manual input when entering orders; as a result, smaller order values weren't profitable. Maginus saves time and significantly reduces manual input in the order and despatch processes, therefore reducing the costs and increasing profitability. Coachwise also increased their customer service levels by reducing order turn-around times through Maginus' streamlined processes and high levels of automation.
Coachwise is a complex business. In addition to the traditional mail order business, they also sell and administer training courses, learning plans and workshop places on behalf of clients. Coachwise required best-of-breed software to control this area and the modern component-based design of Maginus enables such specialist systems to be tightly integrated with Maginus, avoiding process duplication and enabling a streamlined despatch of course materials. This also helped to provide a single holistic view of the customer by client division, and allows all departments to have instant visibility of relevant, accurate and secure customer information thus improving customer service and reducing costs.
Maginus is also utilised to manage Sports Coach UK's membership requirements, processing membership subscriptions, fulfilling benefits, and managing the renewals processes. Jeremy Manders Jones, Head of IT, commented, "We see the flexibility provided by Maginus' xa technology as a major benefit, giving us the ability to plug-in our own customisations without affecting our upgrade path, should we need to respond to changing business requirements in the future". Melanie Drake, Marketing Manager at Coachwise, commented, "The out-of-the-box Maginus solution will allow us to grow profitably to meet our growth targets."
